Confidence-Building Lessons for Youth
Designed for students from Kindergarten and beyond, our Youth program focuses on developing strong technique in all four strokes. We build endurance, refine skills, and help swimmers progress with confidence - whether they’re aiming for competitive events or lifelong fitness and enjoyment in the water.

Level 1-7 classes are 30 minutes
Mini Squad classes are 60 minutes
WHAT TO BRING
- Swimmers and towel for your child
- Goggles and ear wraps (optional)
- Levels 6 and 7 require fins/flippers
Level 1
Level 1 swimmers are continuing to learn water safety skills as well as learning to submerge their body under the water to retrieve items. Students are learning to swim independently for 5m on their front, as well as learning basic Freestyle, and back floats and kicks.
Level 2
Level 2 students are swimming independently for 5 metres front and back, and learning Freestyle with breathing and the Backstroke flutter kick. Swimmers are learning to submerge their body under the water to retrieve items, and continuing to learn water safety skills. All Skills are developing bubble-blowing.
Level 3
Level 3 swimmers are swimming front and back for 9 metres, using the correct kicks and bubble-blowing. Students are learning Freestyle with side breathing, basic Backstroke arms, and the dolphin kick. Development of water safety skills continues throughout Level 3.
Level 4
Level 4 is the first level to swim the full 18 metres, with correct kick and bubbles a must. Students are refining their Freestyle with side breathing and Backstroke with continuous arms, and are working on Survival Backstroke. Level 4 introduces the Breaststroke kick and continues the learning of the Butterfly kick. Water safety skills are continued.
Level 5
Level 5 swimmers will swim 36 metres of Freestyle with bilateral breathing, and Backstroke with continuous arms. Students are learning Breaststroke with correct timing and basic Butterfly (no breath). Survival backstroke work and water safety skills continue.
Level 6
Level 6 students are swimming 72 metres of bilateral breathing Freestyle and continuous arms Backstroke. They are working on their Breaststroke with correct timing and learning Butterfly with correct timing. level 6 introduces kneeling and squat dives, and tumble turns. Students continue their water safety skills.
Level 7
Level 7 swimmers are swimming 200 metres of bilateral breathing Freestyle and continuous arms Backstroke, 50 metres of Breaststroke with correct timing, and 36 metres of Butterfly with correct timing. Students are completing controlled dives, and refining tumble turns, starts and finishes. Swimmers continue water safety skills. Level 7 students require fins/flippers.
Mini Squad
Mini Squad students build endurance while maintaining correct technique for all four competitive strokes. They learn the Medley order and have the ability to change strokes every 25 metres. Students learn advanced tumble turns and touch turns for all strokes, as well as dive and race techniques. Mini Squad students require fins/flippers.
